Background

Zack Mullock is a Democratic candidate for the U.S. House in New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District and the incumbent mayor of Cape May. Mullock has served as Cape May's mayor since 2021 and is seeking his party's nomination in the June 2, 2026 primary. A lifelong Cape May resident, Mullock was born and raised in the city, where his family operated The Victorian Rose bed and breakfast on Columbia Avenue. He attended Cape May Elementary School, Our Lady Star of the Sea, and Wildwood Catholic Academy. He earned a bachelor's degree from Mount Saint Mary's University in 2008 where he was class president, an NCAA Division I golfer, and ice hockey co-captain. He completed an MBA at Saint Joseph's University in 2010. Mullock worked as a PGA golf professional from 2010 to 2014 and spent 14 years managing a championship-level golf course. He also oversaw restoration of the Chalfonte Hotel and other historic properties in Cape May.

Mullock's local government career began on the Cape May City Council, where he served eight years before winning election as mayor in 2021. Under his administration, Cape May built a new library and firehouse, broke ground on a new police station, and upgraded the lifeguard headquarters to increase space for female lifeguards. He is a founding member of the Harriet Tubman Museum, has preserved more than 100 acres of land in Cape May County, and led installation of one of the county's largest solar energy systems. He serves on the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation Board and the Save Wildwood Catholic Inc Board, and is vice president of the Cape May National Golf Club.
